Original alte Ansichtskarte,
geschrieben 1919 aus Port Said (Kriegsgefangenen-Transportschiff) gelaufen nach Peking. Mit violettem Kastenstempel: P.OF WAR CENTRAL CENSORSHIP  B U R E A U  und weiteren Transit-Stempeln.

Ein philatelistisch und historisch überaus interssanter Beleg.

Die Karte befindet sich in guter Erhaltung.

埃及塞德港（1919年6月21日）＞ 上海英國客郵（7月24日）＞ 北京（7月27及28日）
檢查戳： P.OF WAR CENTRAL CENSORSHIP  BUREAU

此明信片是免資的，可能是與軍隊或戰俘有關。個人猜測寄信人所乘船隻是往歐洲，在塞德港途中，寄信給北京的友人。而那枚戰俘檢查戳正是說寄信人可能正是被遺送回國的戰俘。

   The War Propaganda Bureau under the initial leadership of Charles Masterman was created in September 1914. By mid-1915, it had printed and circulated over 2.5 million books, speeches, official documents and pamphlets outlining the Allied position. Masterman enlisted the help of numerous prestigious writers (including Thomas Hardy, H G Wells andJohn Masefield) and newspaper editors in the British propaganda effort. He also commissioned films about the war such as The Battle of the Somme, which appeared in August 1916.

Censorship was closely linked to the propaganda war between the Central Powers and the Allies. The dual need to combat German propaganda material abroad and to maintain morale at home forced the British government to address this issue urgently.

我還有一枚是由英國軍用運輸艦前往上海途中在塞德港寄北京，有英國軍郵局戳及免資戳。因中國與英軍結盟，所以免資投送國內段。

CENSORSHIP不是檢查船的意思，意指檢查(制度)或審查員(或檢查員)的職務
如friendship不是指朋友船，是指“友誼或友好”

若果那枚方戳沒有誤解，P. of WAR應該是指戰俘，有甚麼人的郵件會被蓋戰俘戳又能免資？況且此戰俘戳譯成中文是“戰俘中央檢查處”，應該是將各處戰俘信件集中處理及檢查。所以看到信寫於塞德港4月13日，然後被送往這個戰俘中央檢查處，才會於6月21日起程往中國。
