Lot 815         China, 1898 (23 Nov.) postcard to Germany (31.12) via Hong Kong (2.12) bearing large figures surcharge 4c. on 3c., cancelled by "Chefoo" dollar dater, in combination with Hong Kong 2c. vertical pair cancelled by "Shanghai" c.d.s., card has some light age spotting, nevertheless fine and scarce postcard usage through the British Post Office. Chan 89.

Lot 807         China, 1897 (16 May) postcard from Tientsin to Sucre, Bolivia, "via Valparaiso y Argentina" bearing large figures surcharge 2c. on 3c. red and large figures surcharge 2½mm. setting on Dowager 2nd printing 10c. on 9ca., cancelled by pakua in blue, matching "Customs/ Tientsin" double-ring despatch d.s. and "Customs/Shanghai" double-ring transit d.s. (20.5) in brown adjacent, in combination with Germany Reichpost 5pf. (2) cancelled by "Shanghai" c.d.s. (21.5), showing "Ligne N/Paq. Fr. No. 2" c.d.s. (27.5) alongside, very fine and immensely rare usage through the German Post Offices to an exotic and unique destination. A marvelous postcard of the highest exhibition caliber. 已知唯一贴红印花邮品寄玻利维亚

This postcard emanates from a correspondence of 200-250 postcards and a few covers sent from all over the world to Nicolaus Schütt, a stamp collector from Itzehoe, Germany, who was in Sucre between 1892-1898. As such, one often encounters overfranked items. Two postcards from China are known from this correspondence - the above card and 1897 (27 Dec.) I.C.P. 1c. postal stationery card from Chefoo uprated with I.C.P. 4c. (overpaid by 1 cent) and sent through the U.S. Postal Agency in Shanghai (sold by Interasia Auctions, 6.12.08, lot A17). It has been suggested that the sender of the above postcard was not aware of the letter rate, which could be why the card is overfranked.

Lot 643         China, 1897 (24 May) "Rev. F. Ohlinger, Hing-Hua. P.O. Address: Foochow, China" corner card envelope (tiny tear at right) to Luana, Iowa (1.7) "Via Japan" bearing large figures surcharge 1c. on 3c., cancelled by "Customs/Foochow" double-ring d.s. and Japan 1s. cancelled by "Shanghai/I.J.P.O." c.d.s. (2.6) which also just additionally ties the Red Revenue stamp, showing "Customs/Shanghai" double-ring transit d.s. (27.5) in brown on reverse, fine and appealing special 1 cent printed matter rate through the I.J.P.O. Chan 87.

Lot 134         Tientsin, 1899 (5 May) envelope (tiny tear at foot) to Philadelphia (14.6),via Yokohama (18.5) and San Francisco (8.6) redirected to New York (arrival d.s.) bearing Red Revenue large figures surcharge 4c. on 3c. vertical pair and C.I.P. 2c. (a little oxidized) with manuscript security crosses, cancelled by pakua in blue, matching "Tientsin" dollar chop, and Japan 10s. with "I.P.O." framed tie-print in identical blue and "Shanghai/I.J.P.O." c.d.s. (13.5), very fine and a magnificent franking.

The only recorded instance of a Red Revenue cover with an I.P.O. tie-print on a non-Hong Kong stamp.

The 10 cents rate for mail overseas to U.P.U. countries.

應該不是莫斯本人貼，是寄信人貼的。
個人相信是集郵封，所以大清及客郵票貼足也沒所謂。
